I opened up Gobe Productive and did some word processing, I browsed the file system with Tracker, it was all very brilliant.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;More good news: Haiku will once again be a part of &lt;a href="http://code.google.com/soc/"&gt;Google's summer of code&lt;/a&gt;.  Up and coming programmers &lt;a href="http://www.haiku-os.org/community/gsoc2008/students"&gt;apply here&lt;/a&gt;, they're open for &lt;a href="http://www.haiku-os.org/community/gsoc2008/ideas"&gt;ideas on projects&lt;/a&gt; to assign.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Are you a student looking for work in computer science?
